Since 2005, Telecentre.org has been a worldwide network of people and organizations committed to increasing the social and economic impact of tens of thousands of grassroots telecentres by making telecentres stronger and better at what they do.  From 2010 onwards, Telecentre.org network is being managed by Telecentre.org Foundation, an independent, non-profit, non-stock international organization, registered in Manila, Philippines, with a mandate to help sustain the telecentre movement around the world. It is mainly funded by the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Microsoft, and the Philippine CICT. The work of Telecentre.org is organized around five key pillars or program areas. They are: (i) Networking,(ii)  Capacity Building, (iii) Community Learning and knowledge sharing, (iv) Applied Research support to the public and private sectors, and(v) Impetus at the base of the pyramid. Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) is a development agency, registered in New Delhi as a non-profit Society, promoting the cause of sustainable deployment and use of ICT tools and applications to bridge development and governance divides. Founded in 2002, DEF, has since transformed itself  into a South Asia entity pioneering in key grassroots and outreach programs using ICTs.
